Walmart

RIV’s relationship with Walmart, a global retail giant, began in 2009. Since then we have completed three major remodel expansions and will construct two Walmart supercenters from the ground up in 2012. One of these new construction projects is being built for Brixmor Property Group, the second-largest owner of community shopping centers in the United States.

The remodel projects include significant expansions as well as new, consistent branding and color schemes, more open layouts and new front exteriors to convert conventional Walmarts into supercenter concept stores. To ensure the least possible disruption to and ensure the safety of Walmart customers, RIV completes work on these remodels in several phases while the stores remain open.

Each new supercenter includes general merchandise as well as a pharmacy; optical, customer service, photo and garden centers; and a full supermarket with new storage, refrigeration units, loading and receiving areas. Innovative new materials and energy efficient features are used throughout the stores. All new and remodeled supercenters include extensive site development, and state-of-the-art stormwater retention systems are installed at select locations to ensure the water quality of the sites and keep pollutants out of local waterways.
